City KUMKMP: No Food Scarcity Ahead Fasting Month and Lebaran

Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUKMP) Department ensured the staple food supply in capital until Idul Fitri (Lebaran) quite enough without any food scarcity.

This auction was aimed to bring trader and certain buyers who buy agriculture product such as rice, vegetables, and fruits

It ensured after the department held forward auction in their office in Pulogadung, East Jakarta. Two parties (trader and  buyer) are reconciled and started to bargaining each other.

Fuel Hikes, Staple Food Price in East Jakarta Creeping Up

Kundaryo acknowledged the auction was participated by many agriculture producers from Jakarta, Central and West Java and also rice traders from Cipinang and Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta.

“In this forward auction, bargaining is done directly including shipping and payment for one until two months ahead,” he explained.

The auction result is amounted to Rp 8,764,600 from whole transaction that including saigon rice commodity, black rice, rice 64, South Sulawesi maleo orange, siam orange and round cabbage. “There will be no food scarcity ahead of fasting month up to Lebaran," he added.

According to him, commonly staple food needs during Ramadhan tends to increase around 7%. During that period it will increase 2,700 tons from previous 2,500.
